Para usar um número formatado sem os dígitos depois da vírgula faça como abaixo:
$numero = 1545,156
$formatednum = number_format($numero, 0, ',', '');
//isso vai mostrar o número 1545
//o número "0" mostra a quantidade de casas depois da vírgula
To use a formated number without the comma. See the exemple:
$number = 1545,156
$formatednum = number_format($number, 0, ',', '');
//it will shows the number 1545
//the number "0" shows how many numbers have before the comma(,)
