Having just looked through the source code, there appears to be an undocumented third parameter to
mysql_query, which is labeled 'use_store', and apparently if set to MYSQL_USE_RESULT, the
MySQL function of the same name will be used rather than mysql_store_result, which may result in
more efficient execution in some cases.
