PHP 4.0.5:
Variables set within the called file
remain set in the calling file. BUT:
only if the called file is local.
A *remote* INCLUDE (or REQUIRE) using the HTTP method will
NOT pass variable values back to the calling file. Even if they're global!
It is possible, as per the manual, to pass variables from the calling to the called file, using a
GET-style string of name=value pairs. The results show up in HTTP_GET_VARS.
For passing them back, I tried using include() and putting all the variables into a single assoc.
array and returning the array as the include()'s return value.
No dice: the include won't return an array, or even a string! It only seems to return an
integer.
Better suggestions welcome.
