I recently started digging into PHP. I'm an experienced VB developer who decided to give PHP a
shot primarily because my hosting company allows it at no extra charge (with a small additional
charge for MySQL usage). I got tired of waiting for them to support ChiliSoft ASP. Well, I really
like it and see it becoming my primary server-side scripting language.<br>
<br>
That said, I personally feel that VB is a much easier to use language than the "C-style"
languages which seem to dominate the web. To me, the statement:<br>
IF<br>
...<br>
END IF<br>
<br>
is more intuitive than:<br>
if () {<br>
...<br>
}<br>
<br>
and it doesn't add much extra work in typing on the programmer's part. This is just one
example. I could also talk about having to use "==" when doing comparisons, or having to
include a semicolon at the end of every line. Why does a language have to be unintuitive in order
for it to be a "true" programming language?
