PROBLEM: Call to undefined function mssql_connect() (or similar mssql function)
my assumptions:
1) We have a w2k box as our webserver but also as the db server i.e. we have MS SQL Server on the
same box, so I cannot comment on needing to install the client utils on the webserver.
2) I did an extremely default install. no changes or anything out of the ordinary.
3) I assume you downloaded the exe installer and installed that, then got the above error.
TO FIX:
1) You must download the larger zip file. This zip contains php_mssql.dll.
2) extract php_mssql.dll into \WINNT\System32\
3) modify your php.ini; Search for mssql. you will find a line which says:
;extension=php_mssql.dll
change it to:
extension=php_mssql.dll
i.e. without the ";".
and that's that!
