if you have recently upgraded from old redhat to new 6.0 and later, you may suffer from crypt()
because older versions use "i3" as default salt where new versions generate it randomly.
I do not mean PHP versions, it can stay the same but behavior of your scripts may change after a
system upgrade, which also upgrades base cryptography functions.
