I had problems while trying to set session.* directives (or any run time directive for that matter).
I was using get_cfg_var("var_name_here"); to check that values within my .htaccess file
were being set properly. THIS WILL NOT WORK as it reads the master value (ie the value as set in
php.ini or similar). Use ini_get() to get value as applied to scripts under the influence of the
.htacess file.
