except, commenting on the above, that if PHP version is >= 10.n.n, then the expression is false.
if all you need is to check that the version is >= 4, then this (though maybe not perfect in
concept, either) works:<br><br>list($majver) =
explode(".",phpversion());<br>$goodver = ($majver >= 4);
