It appears that the socket functions do not work on file
descriptors that weren't created by the socket functions.
E.g. getpeername() does not work on stdin even if stdin
is a socket (as it will be if the php script is started by inetd).
This reduces the usefulness of these functions since there's
no fork() function in PHP and thus no(?) good way of
implementing a daemon.
