it would be quite useful if mysql_fetch_array would simply return the ResultColumn[tablename.fieldname] -- that is, INCLUDE THE TABLENAME AND THE FIELDNAME in the returned hash. do you have any idea how common it is to have exact same field names across tables in a db?! 99% common. think of "id" and "key" it seems negligently dumb to NOT include the tablename as part of the assoc. hash name that comes back from m_f_a, don't you agree? and there is no compile-time option in php to force this behavior?? so, what i'm understanding is the ludicrous requirement that every single field name in my (hundreds-of-fieldnames) database must be unique in order to get reliable results??? -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mysql-fetch-array.php http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+17888 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+17888 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+17888
