It seems that opening a http url for writing isn't possible.
My test:
$fp=fopen("http://192.168.1.100/orgtxt/Testing/test.html","w");
// There's no error msg from above line or on the subsequent fwrite.
// This full path to the same file, otoh, works, ie, writes out "some junk":
//$fp=fopen("/home/httpd/html/orgtxt/Testing/test.html","w");
echo "\$fp=$fp"; //Shows "Resource id #1" in both cases.
fwrite ($fp,"some junk."); //Unsuccessful when $fp points to a url.
fclose ($fp);
test.html is local (on the same server as the php script) and
world read and writeable.
