On my SUN Solaris box <BR>
$old_cwd =
pwd; chdir($old_cwd) ; <BR>
only works when I use <BR>
$old_cwd = trim(pwd); <BR>
because the result of pwd is followed by a blank. The same is true for the $fp = popen
example.
