This seems to be what people want:

$temp = preg_split('/(\W)/', $string, -1, PREG_SPLIT_DELIM_CAPTURE );
foreach ($temp as $key=>$word) {
$temp[$key] = ucfirst(strtolower($word));
}
return join ('', $temp);
}
