Win98SE/ PWS/ Php3 v3.0.16/ MySQL v3.22.34
I managed to set up Php3 by doing the following;
1) Use MySQL manual & http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey guide to
PHP/MySQL (by Graeme Merrall) to set up MySQL.
2) Install php3 to C:\php3 directory.
3) Move .dll files not starting with php_ to \windows\system directory.
4) Rename php.ini-dist to php3.ini & move to \windows directory.
5) Open the file php3.ini, scroll to 'Paths and Directories', leave 'doc_root =
' empty -that's what 'used only if nonempty' means- strange English!
6) Set 'extension_dir = C:\php3'.
7) Under 'Windows Extensions' remove (;) from the start of the line
';extension=php3_mysql.dll' to uncomment it.
8) Right-click on php_iis_reg.inf and select 'Install', then reboot for PWS to see this
change.
9) Don't forget to tick the 'Execute' box in PWS to allow access to your web
directory.
10) That should get you up & running, & is as far as I've got at present.
