There is a small error in the first example. The call to cpdf_page_init() should read:
cpdf_page_init($cdpf, 1, 0, 595, 842, 1)
The last parameter is missing, which means the function defaults to 72, i.e. inches, whereas the
units in the rest of the code are obviously in points. The result is that the text is written
outside the page. It works fine with the corrected call.
