Setting the HTTP Status
The only way that I've found that works to set the HTTP status is to call header() with
the desired HTTP status line verbatim.
In particular, the status line should contain no colons
(`:'). For example:
header("HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified");
See the http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2068/rfc2068
HTTP specification for more details on what the status line should look like.
