I have noted a basilar question is without answer (or better at least for Windows), since I'm
in the need of help, I hope the answer anyone could give me could of help also to others, thanks.
Here's my problem :
Ok, I have Windows XP Pro, Apache 2.0.32 and all runs smooth.
I then installed PHP 4.1.1, latest version and MySQL 4.0.1 latest version too.
PHP works good but when opening a php page with the php code line "info" I'm told
that PHP is using a 3.x.x client version of MySQL.
This is so since MySQL is now by default installed in PHP, comes within it and always enabled.
But, having downloaded the latest version I would like to use it instead of the boundled one.
I have browsed PHP and MySQL sites in search for help and just found a little reference about it in
PHP manual.
Unfortunately the manual at that point states that you can use a line of code
"--withmysql=/path/to/mysql" but this line is to be used compiling the Unix version of PHP
not the binary of Windows.
So, since I believe a so basilar question should be already ironed out, I'm in search of help.
I expect a simple code line in php.ini, a not by default present line, to point PHP to the right
directory and therefore to the latest updated MySQL Version.
I hope I have explained myself, thanks for any help you may give,
