This function does not {add request variables with a certain prefix} to the global scope.
It does {add request variables to the global scope} with a certain prefix.
That is, it can't be used to limit what variables are imported into the global scope, and it
will break existing code if you try to combine it with register_globals=off.
the project I'm working on still requires register_globals, but if I could easily import only
variables whose names start with i_, I could turn that damned thing off. Hmm...
