Here's 4 hours of frustration solved by a one-liner:
Apache 1.3.20, mod_ssl-2.8.4, openssl-0.9.5, php-4.06
Everything compiled correctly per perfect instructions (mod_php4.c was there, mime type added in
httpd.conf, etc), but the php scripts wouldn't parse. Solution? Add in:
AddModule mod_php4.c
in the httpd.conf. Seems like just loading the php module doesn't "activate" it.
