I posted a note before with HTTP_CLIENT_IP
That did work perfect with me... but in some way my host did recompile PHP and i lost the
HTTP_CLIENT_IP variable... so it only works if its set!
You can look with phpinfo() what standard vars are set.
The other example of X_forwarded for would work fine i think
