Regarding the "ensure interpreted scripts have "#!" first line" error:
Another way to get this error is to put a .phtml/.php3 file into the ScriptAlias directory and try
to access it as (using the directories from the examples) http://server/php3/test.phtml
PHP files are not restricted to the ScriptAlias directory, in fact they can't execute there
'cause the web server thinks they are actual CGI scripts, not HTML files to be processed by the
PHP cgi.
Put a test.phtml into your htdocs directory and access it. That'll work just fine. :) (this one
just bit me for the past half hour, so I'm _very_ glad to have figured out what I did wrong.
