Inconsistancy between is_dir and is_readable. is_readable does not
work on directories unless they are followed by a '/'. is_dir however
works even if there is no trailing slash. I am not sure if this is a UNIX
based issue or not, but remember to add that trailing slash. Hopefully
this will save someone else the time that I wasted ;)
