Here is a nice little function that I made after strugling with the is_dir for awhile....although it
doesn't use is_dir I know this works for sure.
It returns FALSE if the directory doesn't exist and TRUE if the directory does.
function folder_exist($folder_path) {
$create_dir = @mkdir($folder_path, 0755);
if (!$create_dir){
return TRUE;
} else {
@rmdir ($folder_path);
return FALSE;
};
};
