note 20899 added to function.addslashes

PLEASE HELP! Anyone knows why that won't work? I tried virtually everything (including the use of str_replace, working on a copy of the var, etc) and it just won't add slashes to my string. Therefore, I can't save it into the database without getting an error. -----<cut> $max=count($fields); for ($count=0;$count<$max;$count++) { $fields[$count][value]=addslashes($fields[$count][value]); } -----</cut> It would be great if you could reply to my email but just here will do the trick.
