to clarify something about the above post, extension_loaded() is case sensitive, and you may be surprised by the case of the extension name. For example I wrote a wrapper file rrd_graph.php around the rrdtool.so functions (i wanted to check it out, and I wrote these functions to make rrdtool much more 'manageable' in my mind), and to check if rrdtool.so is loaded I do if (!extension_loaded("RRDTool")) dl("rrdtool.so"); take care -mateusz-
