On PHP 4.2.0, it seems that the dl path is relative to the current directory, NOT the path
that's supplied in 'php-config --extension-dir'. This means that the default path
most extensions install in is wrong and won't work.
If you try and put an absolute path in, it'll make it relative - /usr/lib/whatever will go to
.//usr/lib/whatever - not that useful.
