you can get the serial port from php using this script un de windows or linux
linux:

$file=fopen("/dev/ttyS0","r");
clearstatcache($file);
while(1)
{

}

windows

$file=fopen("COM1","r");
clearstatcache($file);
while(1)
{
echo fgetc($file)."\n";

this script read the serial port 1, COM1 under windows and ttyS0 under linux
