I tried sending a pre-compressed javascript with header("Content-Encoding: gzip") to a
request from <script type=javascript src="http://...?op=getscript">.
I have found out so far that IE4 does not support external compressed scripts and stylesheets (that
is not embedded in the HTML but included with <script ...src=...> and <link src=...>).
With other versions of IE it works on some computers and not on others even if they have exactly the
same versions of IE and Windows. For instance IE 5.0xxxxxx and Windows 98 Buldxxxx.
If anyones knows of at least one configuration of IE and a OS for which it works for SURE let me
know.
