Regarding an ASP Global.asa file, unfortunately, PHP does not support application variables (not in
any way I know of). You can easily create any include file which mimics the the operations of a
Global.asa file by turning on PHP4 Session's auto_start and preloading the global.asa file in
php.ini's auto_prepend_file directive. The PHP Base Library (from which PHP4 Sessions is
derived), does just this. It loads a prepend.php3 file in the auto_prepend_file directive which
gives the user access to all of PHPLIB's classes and functions (which is pretty extensive).
You can find it under the "Projects" section on this site.
