I just upgraded from PHP3 to PHP4, and some of the code I have broke. Specifically, it appears I can
no longer set a static variable to the contents of another variable. I previously had something
like:
static $var = "text $othervar moretext";
Now this generates a syntax error. As this is open-source for something which I didn't write
myself, I'd really prefer not to have to go through and try to fix it all. I'm not even
sure I know how to fix that kind of problem So, is there any way to get PHP3 behaviour out of PHP4,
or something similar?
