I just tried to get PHP 4.2.1 (CGI) to work with Xitami v2.4d.9 on a Win95 platform.
After "solving" the Security Alert problem already described here by others
(cgi.force_redirect needs to be turned OFF) I tried to run the following script again:
<?php
echo "Hello<br>\n";
?>
But all I got was a blank screen. Interestingly, the source code for that blank screen looks as
follows:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html;
charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>
Which I guess means that the server sent the script to PHP and PHP returned the code above BUT NOT
the content of the echo command. Very annoying ... :(
However, when feeding the script to PHP directly from DOS everything worked fine. Here's the
output:
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.2.1
Content-type: text/html
Hello<br>
I have been trying to solve this problem for several hours now and I really don't know what to
do anymore. Can anyone help, please?
Thanx ahead for any suggestions,
Robert
