So, you like me, tired of waiting this supposed to be better function to be completed?
Tired forking gd 2.01 source due to it's horrible bugs, confusing grammer and lack of
documentation?
Then you should download php 4.3.0-dev from cvs and start to fork!
It has bundled gd now. It's from gd 2.01 but so many bugs are fixed, better documented, better
support for unicode, testing and compiling is so much faster and easier since gd is bundled, best of
all, codes are a lot more comprehensible.
If you are an experienced programmer, it won't take long to convert this function to something
that can be used for serious graphic involved project.
Mine currently supports letter spacing, line spacing, charactor horizontal scaling, and small point
sized text print quality is as good as photoshop due to "print to 600 dpi / reduce to screen
dpi" method.
Now I'm working on fit to grid, angle on each charactor, grind options. I guess other options
such embossing and shadow can't be too hard.
Good luck!
