Am I missing something!?
The newest PHP versions, 4.1 and 4.2 have changed the Session model in a way not compatible with
previous versions. Currently the recommendation is to use $_SESSION to store and access all session
variables. But the current version also by default has track_vars enabled and register_globals
disabled.
So it says here in this manual:
"If track_vars is enabled and register_globals is disabled, only members of the global
associative array $HTTP_SESSION_VARS can be registered as session variables. The restored session
variables will only be available in the array $HTTP_SESSION_VARS."
So, doesn't this mean that $_SESSION shouldn't be used with the default case?
The whole explanation of sessions in this latest manual version is very lacking in useful examples
and clear explanation IMHO.
