Novice (PHPer) that I am, I could not get my include statement to work.
<?php include("./filename.php");?>
Reason: My main page was developed prior to me discovering php and was named main.htm, the php
interpreter will not fly on an *.html page. You must name the page something like main.php before
the <?php ?> tags work.
When I took the php tutorials I never realised that only .php extensions invoked the interpreter.
This action is slightly different than JSP pages. Java can be invoked from within a html page.
