To build PHP4.2.2 with httpd 2.0.39, you must have DSO capability enabled.
#./configure --enable-so
Compile and install the webserver.
Then, before installing PHP4.2.2 in your Linux box, make sure you have edited the line 93 of
<source_dir>/sapi/apache2filter/php_functions.c
Modify this line:
#if !MODULE_MAGIC_AT_LEAST(20020506,0)
and change it into this:
#if MODULE_MAGIC_NUMBER < 20020506
Then build it:
./configure --with-apxs2=$APACHE_SOURCE/bin/apxs \
--with-mysql --enable-track-vars
then, compile, install and make the necessary post installation configuration (edit php.ini,
httpd.conf)
