first off, thanks to mikes@in-tune.com for saving my life! i would have never got my install working
without your tips. im running redhat 7.3, apache 1.3.23, php 4.1.2, and mysql 3.23.49, and i wanted
to note that in order to get this to work, u must have the mysql devel package installed. and when
configuring php, dont use
--with-mysql=shared,<DIR>
just use
--with-mysql=<DIR>
the shared option does correct the uncompress error, but i still couldnt things to work w/o the
devel package. and after 2 weeks, i think i finally have everything working.
