you can do this by defining a php-script as a handler for special files:
AddHandler xmldoc xml
Action xmldoc /xmlparse.php4
so for every file with .xml ending the client requests, the xmlparse.php4 would get executed and the
path to the script is set in $PATH_INFO, so you can write your own handlers for special file types
(okay its not exactly a mod_xxx but its truly near on that)
