After solving the security alert problem i too found myself getting a blank screen in my browser
with the source saying:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0

<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html;
charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>
After a while of pruning my php.ini file i noticed that my extension_dir had a value so i set it
back to its default value
'./'
so..... where it used to show:
extension_dir = (location)
it now says:
extension_dir = ./
And now it works fine.
