Don't use 2 different ibase_pconnect in the same php script. You will most likely end up with a
very, very bad performance.
In our case, connecting to 2 different interbase databases yielded a possible performance of 2-10
hits per second on the webserver, whereas removing one of them increased this to 170-1200 hits per
second.
It seems that 2 ibase_pconnects in the same php scripts makes php reconnect each time instead of
using the previous connection.
