It is good to use strrev() in case the filename contains more than one dot.
Reversing the filename will ensure you pickup the characters after the last dot of the original
filename.
Example:
filename$ = "this.is.a.webpage.html"
without reversing the string first, the function will simply return "is.a.webpage.html" as
the extension.
