The documentation regarding the length argument is incomplete. It should be stated that leaving out
the length will return the substring from the start position to the end of the string. (This may
seem "obvious" to some, but it should be clear from the "discussion" regarding
the first element of an array that details like this shouldn't be taken for granted.)
