I don't if this will help anyone, but to insert into a date field using a mysql database and
date(), eregi_replace("\-", $data[date]);
If you have an array with a date field, you can use the following:
list($year,$month,$day)=split("\-",$data[date]");
$date = $year.$month.$day;
I believe you can also directly pipe the array-variable to the date() function directly.
