An alternative way for echo is to just write = . I don't know why and it has lots of
limitations, but it's nice to have an even shorter alternative. As an example, this HTML
listing will print out the contents of $PHP_SELF:

<HEAD><TITLE>Short Test</TITLE></HEAD>
<BODY><?=$PHP_SELF?></BODY>
</HTML>
