Been trying to get a reliable way of checking which version of GD is available so I can use GD2
functions where possible, but followed some of the posts on this page with no luck:
1. It appears that using get_loaded_extensions() and get_extension_funcs() reveals that my ISP has
support for imagegreatetruecolor() (GD2), but when I try to use this function, I get a Fatal Error
(GD2 required).
2. function_exists() also reports that imagecreatetruecolor() exists.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to phpinfo() on my webspace (disabled for security reasons),
so I can't try the other example here which parses the results of phpinfo() for the GD version.
I guess I could write a wrapper for it with a custom error handler, but I think I'll just ask
my ISP to install GD2, or use non-GD2 functions instead.
