Today's mid-day snapshot of php from snaps.php.net, which identifies itself as version
4.3.0-dev worked successfully with Apache 2.0.42 for me after upgrading all the dependencies for my
long list of --enable-[module]'s, changing --with-apxs to --with-apxs2=[location] and adding
the following line to httpd.conf:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Mysteriously it doesn't work as a filter (as phpinfo() claims it is running) nor does it work
if loaded as a handler (as it always did in Apache 1.x)...
As said before, you probably should stick with Apache 1.3.x until all the bugs are worked out.
