I've stumbled across a problem which you may like to be aware of.
Basically if for some reason (I had such a reason!) you have:
<?
session_cache_limiter('public');
session_start();
ob_start ();
At the top of a page, then you will find that "something" happens to session vars. If you
set a session var on one page, then go to another (which gives that session var a new value), then
go back to that page, it uses the OLD value.
Hope you understand what I'm trying to say? I explain in depth here: http://forums.devshed.com/showthread.php?threadid=46927
I hope this helps somebody!
