I got some weird behavior when initializing variables with constants.
For some reason the following code works perfectly:
$status |= STAGEONE;
$status &= EMPTY;
where both constants are integers.
But I can't seem to do this:
$status = EMPTY;
I found a way around it:
$status = constant ('EMPTY');
but I wonder why this is so...
