I would like to confirm the server and client time difference problem. My client was in a different
time zone, and the cookie was never being set (as it had a past expire date).
One way to eliminate this problem is to use sessions and set user variables on the server (stored in
a database table with a timestamp as an expire date). Note that it uses much server power, so
it's probably not a good sollution.
