note 27332 rejected from install.solaris by maxim

When doing a make on solaris 8 with the recommend_8 patches I get the following error:
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `ext/standard/basic_functions.lo'
I have all the required patches installed and packages. Any ideas?
