be careful using single or double quoted salt in crypt function
the example above
<?
print(crypt("mypassword","$1$somesalt$")."\n");
print(crypt("mypassword",'$1$somesalt$')."\n");
?>
produce that:
$1$$xyAQ/aL.VY49zzXfVYUfK0
$1$somesalt$qbGIrNDo5Nyr4eASZFJLQ0
so do not use double-qouted salt in crypt function :)
